Suppose you woke up one morning and found that everyone—your parents, your friends, your teachers—all of them were ignoring you just as if you were invisible. What if all of them looked right through you as if you didn’t exist?
- How do you think that would feel? What problems would it cause? (Allow students to speculate. Accept all reasonable answers.)
- Have there ever been times when you’ve felt as if you were invisible? What wasn’t working that made you feel that way? (Answers will vary; students may mention being ignored or left out of activities with friends, sitting alone at lunch, or not being heard at home, etc.)
In the last several years, with the increase of virtual communication, the concept of “ghosting” other people has also increased.
- Are any of you familiar with ghosting? Have you been affected by it? (Accept all reasonable responses.)
No one likes to be ghosted or ignored! In fact, it can have harmful impact on our self-esteem and relationships.

Today we’re going to look at what Paul had to say about how we can’t do life properly unless we are all alive in Christ together. Let’s find out more.
