DWELLING WITH THEIR LITTER MATES
The veterinarians of McAlester, Oklahoma (130 miles southeast of Oklahoma City) are being overwhelmed by stray cats and kittens. For example, one home began with one cat on the property that quickly became a colony (or clowder) of cats, numbering over seventy. The county mounted a trap and release program that captured the cats, brought them to vets to be spayed or neutered, and then returned them to their clowders or found homes for them. Last year, the effort treated nearly five hundred cats in this way, and this year the challenge continues. One litter of outdoor cats that were closely bonded were given a great home and are “living their fairy tale life” in a heated barn owned by a family out in the country.
DWELLING WITH THEIR GOD
Today’s reading concerns God’s instruction for Moses and the people to construct a special tent in the wilderness so that the Lord could dwell with His people. This tabernacle was to be a sanctuary that would be the meeting place between the holy presence of God and the people He had brought out of Egypt.
